Update Warranty for 4 Years
Every 12 months we publish a new MicroStream major release. All updates for the actual major release are also published as Open Source. Our big goal is to provide a high-quality code base and want to make sure that Migrating to new major releases is trouble-free. However, please keep in mind that MicroStream is an Open Source project that goes straight forward very dynamically. In case we are able to provide great new features, we will accept breaking changes. On one hand, that's a great benefit for our users, on the other hand, might cause migration effort. Migrating will mostly be troublefree, but sometimes it's linked to implementation effort and is a potential source of new issues. If your application runs stable in production already, you might don't want to take that risk. That's why users often want to stay on an older stable and well-known major release as long as possible, to avoid migration efforts and related risks. However, the even greater risk is not using the security updates we provide with our MicroStream Enterprise Support - Update Warranty subscription für enterprises running mission-critical applications with MicroStream. The subscription contains all updates for each older MicroStream major release for 4 years, starting from MicroStream version 6. For enterprises who need an update warranty for longer than 4 years or additional warranties or enterprise-grade services, we provide a custom-tailored support SLA.
